Long ago... when I was in 7th or 8th grade, I just passed my General with 13 wpm when they announced the change. It pissed me off a little bit and I basically just threw in the towel. I used to listen for practice during Field Day but I'm afraid that ship has long sailed. I do remember "C' very well though... and "W".

I've been practicing CW on and off for a while now. I took the 5wpm test for the tech plus right before they eliminated it. I've got my Extra now. I don't get on the air much at all these days. The idea of QRP CW with a radio built from a kit appeals to me.

very nice. I have fondled the Kimber tactical model and it is a beautiful weapon. I don't hunt, just punch holes in paper so all my long guns are 308's. My favorite is an M40A3 I had built.

That's basically the path I took. I got my Tech, then Tech Plus, then General. Finally, right after the change I upgraded to Extra. I'm also a VE but I haven't helped with an exam in a while. I used to make it to Dayton every year when I was in the Midwest - I always enjoyed that weekend.

I haven't been on the air in several years unfortunately.
