Any Chem E's out here?

A new member here. I will be taking the Chem PE this April. Any tips or past NCEES practice exams? During the CBT what are you given to work out the problems? I am imagining that it would be some kind of dry erase booklet. Am I close?

Welcome.

They give you a marker and a non-erasable booklet. (They can erase it for reuse, but you can't.) If you fill it up you have to ask for another one. Check out the official video.

There are a few of us, but yes much fewer than other disciplines.

I passed the test when it was still pencil and paper, so I can't vouch for the CBT. But historically, the Lindeburg study material was harder than the test.

Yeah, I heard that a lot of other (non NCEES) materials are either easier or harder than the real test. I have been in O&G for over 20 yrs so I feel like I have a good background but have been out of school for that long, too. Recently I have moved to a different industry and working in EPC where one needs a PE to get credibility. It's the time away from family and other commitments are what's difficult for me.

I took the PE after being out of school for 14 years so I feel your pain. I knew that I needed a class to learn all the stuff that I haven't been doing. But I'm mechanical, so no idea what the ChemE class options are.

I found out this week I passed the PE-Che exam! So relieved that's over. I guess the hard part starts now of getting licensed. Thanks for your input here.
