About Our Client

Ancon Building Product's design and manufacture high integrity steel products for the construction industry, supplying customers worldwide in a variety of sectors from small-scale residential developments to major infrastructure projects. The company employs 380 people across three sites in the UK and nine overseas offices located in Mainland Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

Michael Page Engineering Design are partnering with Ancon to recruit a Structural Engineer to be based at the Head office in Sheffield.

Job Description

Reporting into the Product Engineering Manger, the Structural Engineer will provide engineering support to all elements of product engineering in order to maintain efficient liaison with all Ancon departments and sites. You will work within the current NPD program of products to ensure that suitable cost effective products reach the market on time and on budget. This person will also be required to assist in providing design, product support and guidance to the sales, commercial, specification and design teams.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for the role of Structural Engineer you will be experienced with the following points.

  • Degree educated in Structural Engineering, Civil maybe considered.

Preferably have further professional qualifications such as a PhD, Masters, MBA or Chartership.
Experienced in the design and development of steel products used in concrete or masonry construction.
Will be well versed in the required Design Codes for UK and European markets, specifically Eurocodes 2 & 3.
Have the required Engineering gravitas to work in a highly skilled department.
Ability to understand situations and develop mathematical models or calculations to describe and define the situation.
Excellent Design/Drafting Skills and be proficient in AutoCad.
Have excellent communication skills and be experienced in dealing with customers, suppliers and key internal departments.
