Does anybody know if the April 2017 California seismic exam will incorporate ASCE 7-16? If so, are EET and/or SDR updating their courses and review materials

I would see what past exams did, I know the code years have been released for the main 8 hour ncees exams but I am not familiar with California supplemental exams. My assumption would be they're all to the same code but I'm not sure.

I doubt it.  Even when the ASCE 7 was updated from ASCE 7-05 to ASCE 7-10, it took the Board several exam cycles to switch over.  The Board's reference list still shows 7-10.

Also note, they are still listing the 2012 IBC/2013 CBC (not the 2015 IBC/2016 CBC)  (2016 CBC is effective Jan 1, 2017)

The technical changes from 10 to 16 don't seem nearly as drastic as they were from 05 to 10.

EET said they're updating their courses and material for the new code that the state will switch to. That's confirmed as of last week.

Hey, no problem.  Don't mention it.
