Not a bad list. But they did leave out Euler's critical load equation for buckling.

And d@mn you Fourier Transforms.... :eek:ldman:

I believe that my boss deals solely with #5 and it is my job to make it both real and rational.

 
Really? Euler's Formula for Polyhedra, but not a single Bernoulli equation? You disappoint me Ian Stewart.

 
Speaking of transforms, does everyone remember these days?

Oh, God, yes.

I had one professor go through some great long math process, which may or may not have included fast Fourier transforms, and when I was well into my stupor, he wrote BAOG on th board, and the final answer.

We are all looking at each other, mouthing, "WTF is BAOG?" Finally someone asked. I was expecting some odd latin math term, but the guy said, "By Act Of God. You weren't following the derivation, you were never going to figure it out at home, and you really don't need it. So, by act of God, there's the final equation."
