got the troller out, but no bites lately. Nver seen it this slow this time of year and i started my firm in late 2009 when things were in the proverbial crapper

its slow at my office too; there's rumor of layoffs coming by the end of the summer. Thankfully I've got seniority and control over the computer network, so I am fairly safe in my position.

We've got feelers out, but the economy sucks so bad right now; even the contractors are hurting to find work

I'm a one man operation and I've stayed consistently busy since the get go. The market here is primarily high end so I'm guessing the rich folks know something I don;t and they are sitting on the side lines.

Nothing wrong with that; you far enough away from the fires to get some good fishing done?

I've tried the Poudre (sp) outside of Ft. Collins with good success

^ But Lady and the Tramp told me otherwise!

There are 9 fires in the state as of yesterday. We have one roughly 12 miles from us that started on Saturday. It was raining down burned up pine needles Saturday evening, but they were fortunately cold and grey. The fire dept and forest service don;t thin the closest fire will effect us because it would need to cross alpine tundra to get here. I fish locally alot because we have the head water of the blue river flowing byt the house. it's close and easy and pretty damn good.

No dishes so far today. I did manage to get a couple blisters on my hand from the stupid shovel...

They got day labor to perform such duties!! Cool the blisters (on a bottle of [insert beverage of choice]) down while watching the laborer do the digging.

Sounds like yer a little further away than others, congrats. Those fires are hard to contain if they get into the tundra though. Plenty to burn below the surface materials and hard to put out / keep out.

Also sounds like you have a good fishing location; better to be close to one than further away :)
