I agree with TME.  I thought I knew structural engineering until I started to study for this test.  Even if I had failed the test what I learned by studying would have made it worth the time.

I took it in Illinois April 2014.  There was close to 80 people each day.  The second day a few more then the first.

I think some of it also depends on who reviews your application.  I was approved in Illinois but denied Model Law Structural status when I applied.

I studied on my own. I have 3 kids so I could not make it to any regular class times. Most of my studying was after they were in bed.

Reinforced Masonry Engineering Handbook: Clay and Concrete Masonry, 5th edition is good. I don't know if you would have time to get it but it was a big help for me.

I agree with TJM. The morning exam seemed easier than the sample but the aftenoon was about the same.

I called CTS this morning. They claimed they have not received the results yet. I then chatted with NCEES who said they released the results to the Illinois Structural Engineering Board. My guess is the Board needs to do something before they send it to CTS. There was a Board meeting...

I was seat #1 both days and the proctor said he saw a lot of familiar faces. Not exactly what I wanted to hear 5 minutes before we started.
