Failed FL PE 3 times - what are my options?

Have you heard of testmasters? I took their EE class a year ago in Texas and took the test in CA. I had already taken the test once and the first time I took PPI (which was useless in my opinion). They offer Civil courses as well. I seriously can't say enough about this course. They tell you...

    IEEE 1106 and 450

Anyone have a copy of IEEE 1106 and 450? I need these standards to create testing procedures for stationary batteries at a substation my company is installing. I know I can go to the site to download them for a price but wanted to try here to see if any of you fellow EE's had a copy. Thanks!

Suggested Study Materials for Electrical Power PE?

Hey Eringharvey the book I used this past April was Stephen J. Chapman's 'Electric Machinery and Power System Fundamentals.' The best thing about this book is that he's not a PHd so he explains things in "real engineer" talk. It's a bit pricey unless you can find a copy in soft paper back. Aside...

what do you need to pass

Hey Stuckin I just recently took the Testmasters course in Houston for the Electrical Power Section and I honestly can't say enough about this program. I passed on my second try which was this past April. The first time I took the exam I tried using The Other Guys and come test day practically...

    Electrical - Power (April '10)

I felt the exam was ok, but let me make my final decision at the end of July, beginning of August! Everything I studied was on the exam except a few curve balls they threw in terms of experience related questions. Aside from that I hope I passed. This is my second time taking the exam. Good luck...

    PE Electrical-Power

I'll let you know. I'm taking the EE-power course in Houston this March. I took their EIT prep course and it was flat out the best prep course I ever took. They just drill you on problems until your eyes bleed (not sure if that's a good thing). I took PPI this past October and failed. We'll see...

    Chelapati book

I really do think this book is a very useful tool. Some of the parts I find pretty difficult to follow since the author skips a few steps. This is my second time taking the exam and I didn't use this book as much as I should have. The great thing about this book is the industrial type of...

    Kaplan Power Review

Thanks a bunch dark night. I pretty much studied for 4 months this past April and didn't passed. The funny thing was that I felt confident I passed which concerns me. I'm going for another shot in April and hopefully I will get it this time around.

Thanks dzdave00! I appreciate your help immensely. I have been having a little difficulty understanding DC and AC motors. My main concern is when I'm reading a problem and I can't visualize what the problem is asking for and how to find the unknowns. I'm just trying to do as many as possible...

Problem 7, Chp. 40 Camara Practice Probs.

I was wondering how the solutions manual arrive to Q/3 phases = VaIa = Va(Eg-Va)/Xs? When I first looked at this problem I figure that the calculated rotor current would have been Va/Ra. Any help would be great appreciate! chap_40.doc
