    Have you ever been "carded?"

+1, I've searched engrs prior to interviews to make sure they're for reals.

Level of math of the PE

I'm reavealing my nerdyness here... but I've used that on other boards, and only EEs would get it if I used j. This way we all can share in the fun. :multiplespotting:

    Tranformer protection and CT

Excactly. I had an SEL application engineer, who I trusted a great deal, recommend that I never design another Y/delta CT scheme. He said that SEL recommends Y/Y connections of the CTs, regardless of how the primary is configured. This was for a xfmr differential 487.

    How's everyone been?

yes i did, more settled in now for sure. it's going well, i enjoy how technical it is.

Level of math of the PE

I think the math required to do this problems is all you should worry about, not specific math equations. If you can do your practice problems; you can do the math req'd to pass the PE. YMMV.

    Motivation

I kept myself motivated by refusing to go home, and studying at work. That way I couldn't get distracted by family or TV.

    How's everyone been?

I know I'm a bad board member, but I got a call from a friend recently telling me about how this board was helping them in their P.E. persuits and realized I needed to start checking in here again. So props to you guys for keeping up the good work, and good luck to everyone on the 29th!!

Ah yes you are right, assuming a delta connected load not line. Thx flyer.

    Engineering Economics

Yah, I'm sorry, I meant the specifications provided on NCEES's site. I passed and as such didn't receive an assestment. Haha, we've beaten this horse to death and then some. Some questions, such as certain code questions, explicitly state what they are. Looking at the practice exam you can...

This is assuming a delta connected line FYI.

    Studying issues

If you get stuck on one, feel free to post it here. FlyerPE, Dark Knight, and a many others on this board are VERY helpful when it comes to the Power practice exam, so hopefully someone will step-up for the Electronics and give you a step-by-step or will help you get over a hurdle if you're...

    Engineering Economics

This I agree with. Study what's on the NCEES breakdown, and be prepared for everything on there. I'm as paranoid as you are benbo, so I won't go into specifics, but on my exam there were at least 4 sections mentioned on the NCEES paperwork which were not covered by the exam. There were not...

Here's PE to BE's explanation of the %age breakdown: http://engineerboards.com/index.php?showto...p;#entry6759554

    Engineering Economics

Here's all I'm saying: The breakdowns (http://www.ncees.org/Exams/PE_exam.php) are just rough guides, nothing more. You said: This isn't true. I can't go into specifics; I don't want my score invalidated, but one section (call it section A) claimed to be X% of the exam. The question...

    Engineering Economics

Again, YMMV, but in my test there were supposed to be NEC and NESC questions. Without talking specifics, there were 0 from one category and too many from the other. I don't think you can say "miscatagorized" when the question reads "According to the ____ code of ____".

    Engineering Economics

This is absolutely incorrect. They don't represent their percentages accurately.... at least based off of my experience. Several areas that were said to be covered, had 0% representation on the actual test when I took it, and one area accounted for twice as many questions (percentage wise) as...
