    Big bottom

Not to my knowledge. We have 69/230/500.... with a tiny bit of 115. I'm not aware of anything over 500 on the western interconnection, but I've been wrong before.

The base is in a "river". (In AZ we define rivers funny. This river is actually a wide swath of sand 90% of the time). Was designed to withstand ground losses caused by bank wshouts, erosions from the river, force of full river flow, subsurface scour, oh and.... it's in the vicinity of a sand...

I named it this way on purpose.

We just poured a transmission tower base that's 30 truckloads of cement, 10' diameter, and 104' tall (7' above ground 97' below).

    Choosing Electrical Engineering Concentration

I agree with all above, except that Power is the most lucrative. I think you can make more money as a comm or computer engineer..... but the difficulty can be finding work. My honest opinion; go get a job in the field if you can and work some. I worked at Intel, General Dynamics, and a local...

Do you think engineers are on the way to becoming “cheaper by the dozen”?

Well that and our curricula were ABET certified. That makes us immune, right?

Registering for FE exam in april

Yah. Stop being lazy. Seriously unless you're a very good test taker you won't pass the FE or the PE without a good amount of studying.

    Scolling banner

I think it probably had more to do with the dyslectics on the internets.

2010 PE Exam Reference Material for Electrical Power

I took the IESNA as well, and I barely used it. It's just too large to use effectively unless you REALLY know lighting and use it all the time, in which case you don't need a reference as the lighting questions weren't that hard. I took the lighting portion only from the Handbook you're...

    Relay Reference

If you have exp in the field, this book is invaluable. However if you've never used or taken protection, this book is dense and difficult to use. From what I remember from the exam, a basic undergrad power book will have everything you need, this is the one I studied from...

    Avatar = Pocahontas

I also thought the "Awah" name for god was .... interesting. Sounded a lot like Allah, especially after your main antagonist (a white, english speaking general) said "the only way to fight terror is with more terror".

    Air guns

I've got a few air rifles, but this is just about as quiet, and I think would do a better job on your rats:

    beginner's acoustic guitar

I started with a Yamaha FG700S for my first guitar.... and I still have it. Sounds amazing. Was very pleased. I think I paid ~$120 new... but that was years ago. Not sure what they go for now, bought it from some place in Scottsdale. And I can second the Seagull as well. They make nice stuff.

new technology, eco-technology not always so great

People get all wound up about this, doesn't anyone listen to Al Gore? Soon there won't even be snow, because of global warming. Then the LEDs will work fine.
