Sometimes you just need to scream!!!

Electricians are *NOT* engineers. And I'd take a good electrician over a good engineer any day to wire/rewire a residential house. If you can read the NEC, you can be a GREAT electrician - even if you're slower than molasses in January.

Is displaying the Ten Commandments on state grounds unconstitutional? One atheist group thinks so.

    Here's an interesting interview: http://foxnewsinsider.com/2014/01/16/must-see-shepard-smith-takes-little-league-coach-alan-beck-over-lawsuit-against-teen

    donating blood

What started out as a waiting period because of deployments to Honduras and the Far East turned into a lifetime ban until they come up with good tests for mad cow (bovine spongiform encephalopathy or BSE) now that I've spent more than five years in Italy.

    Civil Construction highest failing score?

The standard for all NCEES exam questions is whether or not a minimally qualified engineer will answer the question properly. Surely each depth is at least slightly different because the expectation for minimally qualified engineers is different. But to say one depth is harder than another as...

^ These landlubbers wouldn't know a bow if it hit 'em square in the chest. Which reminds me of a crusty Warrant Officer I met as a Midshipman. He told we there were three things he hated in life: calm seas, the sight of land of radar... and I can't remember the third thing. Maybe it was his...

    dewatering problem

Yup... that's my take. This is a great place for help with problems. The discussion is much more valuable than knowing the right answer. I'd be surprised to know Mark disagrees and would claim copyright infringement.

    New Exam, New DATES!

Take it straight away... you should be able to pass it without any studying if you're at a good engineering school and you've paid attention the last four years. And worst-case, you don't pass on the first time and try-try again.

    Anyone have one of these?

Use an old-work box (blue plastic ones with "ears" that tighten over the back side of the drywall) and you can easily add a CATV outlet. anywhere. Terminating coax is one of the simplest things to do!

For men, I'm sure it's a breast thing. Something about which side of the brain sees the left or right breast first. Or something like that. To make her switch, focus on when the leg goes behind the body - then tell yourself it's really in front of the body.

Osha Safety book- Things to refer and tab

I recommend you buy this book: http://www.amazon.com/1926-Construction-Industry-Regulations-January/dp/1599594269/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1381764475&sr=1-1&keywords=osha+cfr+1926 The tabs and index make it great for regular use... and, of course, it'll save a minute or...

what do you think would cause this? - moisture in garage

If the elevation of the garage floor is the same as the elevation of the outside concrete slab on grade, I'd look for something else. When's the last time it rained? Are there any utilities inside the wall? I'd cut the drywall out to see what's there.

WR/Env. Six Minute Solutions Prob. 56

That's a table for the erf function, not the erfc function. Try this table: http://www.coe.montana.edu/ee/tjkaiser/ee407/notes/comperrfnc.pdf I'd guess 1.66 comes from a different table that was interpolated.

WR/Env. Six Minute Solutions Prob. 56

I don't have any books with me, but this is a diffusion problem. erfc is the "complementary error function". Using wolframalpha, (http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=erfc^%28-1%29%280.01099%29) for the inverse erfc (0.01099) gives a result of 1.80. I'm guessing there are inverse erfc tables...

    THE DRUNK TANK... 2.0

The next planet was inhabited by a tippler. This was a very short visit, but it plunged the little prince into deep dejection. "What are you doing there?" he said to the tippler, whom he found settled down in silence before a collection of empty bottles and also a collection of full bottles...
