    Let the nervous countdown begin

For another perspective on this (from a buildings guy)... I think it's more like 25% AASHTO, 75% all the other codes So in that sense I don't think it's that unreasonable since there are about 9+/- primary codes that the exam requires you to be proficient with. So in that sense, AASHTO is an...

    Lateral Study Materials

NCEES publishes a document showing the breakdown of topics on the exam. Seems to me that it's followed quite closely. I'd look at that (it also lists required codes) and start there. I picked up the seismic package from PPI along with the SEAOC 1, 2 and 3 books and found them quite useful.

    PE and Money

It's more a matter of my employer being flexible with my time than the school having a part-time program per se. I'm at University of Texas at Austin. As far as I know I'm the only person who has ever even attempted it there :) Basically I take 1 class a semester and work on a research...

Definitely planning to do this if/when I pass the SE. Frame PE and SE certs with their pencils :)

Where do you put in your license(s)? I see experience and degrees but not any input for PE and/or SE?

Texas October 2013 PE Results out . How did you do?!

This level of difficulty, as I understand it, is true no matter what your afternoon discipline is. The material is relatively simple if you're able to suss out the important and unimportant information. And, frankly, a good engineer ought to be able to do just that. This exam is not required...

Which States besides CA require special exams for PE?

I think CA is the only state with extra exams anymore. And there's buzz that this may not be the case for much longer as the SE is a standard exam everywhere now and the requirements for superfluous exams to differentiate the CA state licensure is not necessary.

    PE Result Dates by State

Where'd you get the 12/5 date from? Also, the real question here is when are the SE results getting posted!? eh!?

    Hours Studied for SE Exam?

Me too -- here's hoping I can get through the lateral exam the second time around. The first time through I spent probably 75% of my time reviewing for the first exam and 25% for the second assuming there would be a lot of overlap. Truth be told, there really isn't much. I highly recommend...

April 2013 SE, how did you do?

Yea -- I won't be failing this one twice... for good or bad I'm going to suffer again studying for weeks on end to make sure I don't EVER have to take this exam again.

    Damnit... Passed vertical. Failed lateral.

April 2013 SE, how did you do?

Since it's on the NCEES site wouldn't they all just go up at the same time?
