    Average Age to take FE/PE/SE

My state require 4 years of experience after getting BS degree in Civil Engineering and not after passing FE exam. So, technically, you can pass FE 3 years after graduation and PE 4 years after the graduation and apply for a PE license right away.

    Average Age to take FE/PE/SE

FE at 30 (right after getting BS in Civil Engineering) PE at 33 (both exam and license) SE at 34 (both exams passed, working on application to send to GA board) My state requires 4 years of experience for a PE license. Experience is counted from the day of graduation with BS degree in Civil...

Best Prep Course for the SE

I did AEI Vertical in the Spring 2021, Lateral in the Fall 2021. Both were successful, highly recommended.

    Results Soon ....right?

The notification email from NCEES popped up on my watch and I ran to my desktop computer to update NCEES page. What a breathtaking moment!

    Results Soon ....right?

FL is in! I passed Lateral! Yeah! Vertical was passed in April of this year after passing PE in October 2020. Thanks to this community for a lot of recommendations and directing me toward AEI classes I had no idea about. Dr. Z. and Dr. I. with AEI helped me so much to make my dream come true. I...

    Results Soon ....right?

Does anyone usually start a thread for some statistics about SE exam that includes things like number of tries, pass/fail, bridges or buildings, method of studying, prep class taken (if any)?

    Results Soon ....right?

Congratulations! Are you done with both, vertical and lateral?

    Results Soon ....right?

Today is the day, I hope 🤞 It is the 9th day since the release of PE results, exactly when SE results were released for April 2021 exam.

October 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

My state exempts from cont. ed. for the licensing period when PE exam is passed and not when license number is received. I passed PE in November, applied in December and received a license number in March, which was the next licensing period from when PE was passed. I was sure I don’t need to...

    SE Results

I think 2 weeks could be the time difference between the earliest PE release date and latest SE release date considering all states.

    SE Results

I thought it was one week between PE and SE results in my state for April 2021 exam. I received NCEES email notification about SE vertical exam results on June 11, 2021. I believe PE results were available on June 4th, which is exactly one week in between. But I might be wrong about PE results...

October 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I didn’t want to talk about it anymore, but decided to write a quick summary of what I said. 1. I came from a place where 80% of civil engineers are female. 2. My first boss was a very nice knowledgeable lady who made me an engineer. I liked her a lot. She is the best boss I’ve ever had. 3...

October 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Isn’t Texas the only state that provides both passing and failing scores? And the passing score doesn’t represent the true exam grade? I believe I’ve heard something like that before. So I was curious if it is possible for a published failing score not to represent a true exam score as well.

October 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I don’t know where I disrespected women. In my area of US, I’ve never seen anyone in 10 years discriminated based on gender, origin, or skin tone. People in my area get fired and hired purely based on their professional qualities, both in offices and construction job sites. That is why I put...

    NCEES Credentials Evaluation

Thanks. A friend of a friend asked about this process not too long ago. I guess it has changed since I tried to use my foreign degree 6 years ago. Back then, NCEES didn’t offer any evaluation services and the state board listed a couple of approved evaluation companies.

October 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

If a person is from TX, can a failing score be skewed by their board. I remember they have something different about publishing their results.

October 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

But, honestly, even after a decade in this country I can’t get used to all the talks about minorities, etc… Just be a good human and a fine professional and it will lead to a success no matter what. I just wanted to make a point that in some countries civil engineering office jobs are mostly...
