    Ever heard of these guys?

I was looking into employment with this company, but I can't find anything on them other a few job postings and "major contributor" designations for charitable donations. I've noticed they have offices all over the U.S. but primarily in the eastern half. What can you tell me about them...

2003 BSME GT & EIT 2009 AL PE 5 years experience (4 years with current company) ~55k with 15% performance based bonus (15% is increased or decreased based on company performance) I guess you can put me under design engineering. It's way too complicated for a quick blurb. You fellows...

Has anyone sent thank you notes

Got my results today. The letter was dated the 23rd and arrived on the 24th. Alabama takes a lot of flack for a lot of things, but I can't fault the postal service! I live south of Birmingham, just off of I-459. Oh yeah, I passed. :D

    Mechanical Systems Depth Question 520

BPH, thanks for the reply. I think I understand where I went wrong. I didn't consider the bar as a spring and assumed that it would expand to the full length indicated by the thermal expansion calculation alone. However, after reading your reply and looking up further information in the MERM, I...

    Mechanical Systems Depth Question 520

Can someone explain this one to me? I can follow their logic through the problem. However, I don't understand why you can't calculate the thermal deflection and then, using that x, calculate force as -kx. The answer is close, but not close enough to chalk up to rounding or significant digits...
