Can anyone tell me why the initial VA certification is for two years. I see other licenses issued that expires after six years. Any ideas?

California licenses expire every two years. It's just the law. Probably the same reason in Virginia. Doesn't your ocmpany pay your licensing fee? Here in CA it is pretty cheap anyway.

I lived in VA for a while and just passed the EE - Power. I did not notice any PE license valid for over two years. All shown under License Lookup (VA DPOR) is the initial date of receiving the license and the expiration date which does not tell you the duration of the license. These license are only valid for two years. If you are still unsure, you can verify with VA DPOR via email or phone. Good Luck. Thanks.
