I'm wondering if I need the CBC. For Seismic, all I'll have is the ASCE 7, and the Seismic & Wind NDS, plus a Seismic Workbook by Lindeburg. For surveying I'll have the new Surveying Reference Manual by Cole.

Seismic:  One good reference workbook (Ibrahim, Hiner, Lindeburg etc.), the ASCE 7, and the CBC.  So yes, you need the CBC.  You won't need NDS. 

Survey:  One good reference workbook.
