What is the purpose for the book?

Even though there are elements of design that are similar for water treatment and wastewater treatment, there are some distint differences! I just wanted an idea of what you were seeking before making recommendations.

I always recommend Metcalf & Eddy as a first textbook. There are some others that ASCE/WEF put out that get into more detailed design info, but for the basic nuts and bolts of the physical, chemical, and biological processes M&E is the best.

In addition to M+E, I was happy to have Water Quality by Tchobanoglous and Schroeder. (Tchobanaglous is the main author of the M&E book.) It covers both water and wastewater treatment, a number of other topics, and it covers a lot of basic theory.

Hi All,

Are you's reffering to M & E's Wastewater Engineering: Disposal and Reuse?

I agree, Metcalf and Eddy are pretty much a must...if you can supplement with some other refs, then all the better. However, having Metcalf and Eddy will serve you well.
