Well, they hooked up my TiVo over the eweekend and my conceptual understanding of this TiVo was wrong.  It is not wireless, the connectivity is through the coax cable.  They attach a box between my modem and the router.  Each of the TVs still need to have a coax cable to the TiVo box in order to work.  So far I'm like the system (most likely because I now have a HDTV to my HDTV).

I exchanged the TV at BestBuy for the smart TV.

Side note:  When they installed the TiVo there was a sound everytime you entered a command. It was a loud annoying "boop" sound like you might hear when a character jump in a video game.  I found in the settings how to turn it off.  thank god because it was driving me nuts.

 
I like mine, but as an adult I just don't have the time to explore all of its functions.  It does seem to have the potential to do a lot, though.
