Job Description
This North Lincolnshire based business are looking to recruit an innovative and proven Factory Manager. The role will report directly into the Operations Director and will have full responsibility for a fast paced, labour intensive manufacturing operation. The highly driven manufacturing professional will have autonomy across the complex plant and will be tasked with maintaining the current production plan whilst developing a long term improvement strategy.
The Factory Manager will have a large team with 5 direct reports across a complex and often manual process. They will be tasked with delivering a broad production plan whilst looking to develop a proactive approach to manufacturing. As a key member of the senior management team, there will be leadership and mentoring responsibility for direct reports as well as wider responsibility at strategic level.
Responsibilities will include:
- Full autonomy for the production plan
- Quickly understanding factory 'flow' and implementing improvement
- Leadership responsibility for all teams including PDP's and wider HR issues
- Working closely with the senior management team on strategic issues
- A direct and honest approach to communication
The Successful Applicant
The successful Factory Manager will possess the following attributes:
- Experience of managing large production teams within labour intensive environments
- Proven in delivering a production plan and working towards tight deadlines
- A strong and decisive manager
- Proven in improving production 'flow' with a CI / lean skill set
- Suitably qualified in a relevant manufacturing / engineering discipline
- A proven problem solving skill set, capable of reacting to step changes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- An innovative and customer-focused thinker
- A proactive and driven manufacturing professional
