Hey,

If you're like me (and you'd be damn lucky if you were) you go the extra mile and consider costs and availability when designing your structures.

Just today I went looking for the market price of structural steel, but trying to find that is pretty tough. Anybody got a link?

There are other times I find myself looking for truss span tables, lumber pricing, etc.

If you have a website you think is a must have, please add it to the thread.

I think I can edit this original post to make a list of links. I'm volunteering to compile but I need your suggestions. And the market price for structural steel.

Thanks!

This is a really good one, it is the Struct. Eng. Assoc. of Ill. free software site. The IBC sheet saves a lot of time in Wind Calcs. Just be sure to add in internal pressure to the numbers given in WW&LW (Knelli)

One of my resolutions for next year, as I'm sure it is for all of you, is to update this thread and contribute to the WIKI

In the meantime, I just stumbled on this link which has multiple calcs available - interface is kind of cheesy - also, some of the calcs say that your account will be charged $5 (to your account?) for calculating them but that seems to apply only if you want to print them. Anyhow, here you go - there are a hodgepodge of things here:

edited: evidently the site is free right now, but will be fee based in the future. Just like EngineerBoards.com!

Happy New Year!
