A series of ground water Wells are shown with a given hydraulic conductivity , soil porosity and retardation factor. Also, the elevation on each well is given. The problem asks for the solute actual velocity in (in/day).

v=(k)(i)/ (n)® ... cant's find solute velocity anywhere in CERM. Im I relying too much on CERM index ?????

thanks , will appreciate any help.

Since you are given the Retardation Factor ®, your equation simplifies to:

vsolute = vx/R

Where vx = (k)(i) /(n)
