Hi All,

Can anyone explain why I didn't pass the FE exam with the scores below? I was told and I read multiple places that 120/240 will pass. WHen I do the math I figure I got 123/240.

Now I know I have room to improve but if you look at the scores the low ones all are mechanical type questions. I am electrical and I do not have a clue on Mechanical. I even took theTestmasters review and I still don't comprehend the stuff. ANy ideas how I can review to pass those sections?

Morning:

Math – 63 - 12/18

Probability – 62 - 5/8

Chemistry – 82 - 9/11

Computers – 50 - 4/8

Ethic -88 - 7/8

Economics – 90 - 9/10

Static - 50 - 6/12

Dynamics – 0 -

Strength of material – 12 - 1/8

Material properties – 50 - 4/8

Fluids – 50 - 4/8

Electricity – 64 - 7/10

Thermo. – 62 - 5/8

Afternoon:

Math – 50 - 3/6

Probability – 80 - 4/5

Biology – 33 - 1/3

Economics -17 - 1/6

Mechanics – 38 - 3/8

Materials – 43 - 3/7

Fluids – 0

Electricity – 86 - 6/7

Thermo. - 44 - 4/9

Thanks.

Unless I'm missing something, I added up the numbers you posted and found that you got 73 right in the morning and 25 in the afternoon for a total of 98, not 123.

I'm an electrical and I passed the FE this time around. I've read the cutoff typically varies from 50-65% raw score. I took the Electrical DS section in the afternoon, which I'm assuming worked out pretty well for me.

I was lost as well on strength of materials, etc. Instead of trying to completely learn unfamilar topics, I spent most of my time reviewing concepts that I know I can be very good at. I didn't study much at all, but I refreshed myself on things like basic math/probability/calc; I feel like I was able to get almost all of these right on the exam, which had to have helped.
