For a wye connection, is the neutral current,

In=Ia+Ib+Ic

or

Ia+Ib+Ic+In=0

 
I don't know if this answer will help you much.

It's nodal analysis. The sign depends on which way you draw the arrow. When writing the KCL equation, the convention I learned was to put a positive sign on current entering a node and negative sign on current leaving the node. The sum of currents entering and leaving the node is 0.

If you consider all currents (Ia, Ib, Ic, In) are entering the node:

Ia+Ib+Ic+In = 0

If you consider the phase currents (Ia, Ib, Ic) entering the node and In leaving the node:

Ia+Ib+Ic-In = 0 -> In = Ia+Ib+Ic
