Trying to understand why my solution doesn't give correct answer from prob 50.5 in MERM Practice Problems.
Problem asks for Ix of parabola given as y^2=x from 0 to 9 (x) and 0 to 3 . Answer is 32.4in^4.
My solution is Ix=integral(y^2 dA). I define dA as g dy fron Eqn 50.4 and since g= y^2, I setup problem as Ix=intrgral(y^4 dy from 0 to 3). This yields a much larger number. How is my setup wrong?
