I spend hrs trying to figure out why my answer was different than the solution only to find out the author calculated the wrong value for the shear stress. Talk about frustrating...I have found a bunch of errors with this booklet.

Agreed. I've basically given up on 6MS. The last 20 or so are actually pretty decent, but before that it's filled with crap. The other 6MS books are way better I think.
