Can someone please explain to me ex.10 in the graffeo EE guide to passing the power PE book?

I don't understand how to get 22.78 49.4 degress from Zld = 35(j30)/(35+j30)

I am assuming you're serious and no offense intended but I would recommend a review of basics like this before taking exam.

If I write the numerator as 35 /_ 0 times 30 /_ 90 and you multiply those by multiplying magnitude and adding angles does that help you out?

yea, i was being dead serious. it just wasn't coming to me how to convert the 35xj30 to polar (been out of school for a long time). Thanks for the tip. The trigonometry is slowly coming back to me.

it is certainly a good idea to understand the "trigonometry" but absolutely no reason to do the math by hand.

need that recommended calulator

Using casio fx-115es, You need to set your calculator to "Complex" Mode first

Then you can literally put in those numbers in at once.

Its hard to explain on hete, It's on page E-25 of the fx-115 es plus manual. It would save you tons of time if you know how to use those functions.
