Position Title = Global System Controls Manager

Education Required = Four years of college or technical training in electrical or controls engineering. or equivalent experience. A working knowledge and background with PLC controls is a must.

Experience Required = 10+ Years

* Application experience, with knowledge of operational sequences for bulk material handling systems, pneumatic conveying, batch and continuous feeding and weighing.

* Able to specify and program Allen-Bradley and Siemens brand PLCs

* Able to specify and program Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Maple Systems, and Wonderware brand HMIs.

* General understanding of customer applications such as extrusion, mixing, cooling, compounding, batching systems, and recipe control

* Instrumentation, both discrete and analog

* Communication protocols: Asi, Ethernet, Profibus, Control Net, Device Net, Modbus

* AC and DC power, motors, and motor control

* Safety codes and requirements: NEC, UL, CSA, CE, A TEX

* General understanding of sales and service processes

Position Description =

Responsible for directing the group that provides custom system controls for Feeder and Pneumatics Systems, and standard controls for pneumatics components. Oversee Company’s control department's planning, estimating, design, development, programming, testing, commissioning, and promotion. Globally manage all aspects of the department, including budget, strategy, scheduling of projects, assignment of resources, and supervision of personnel. Sell, design, and program sophisticated control panels.

DUTIES:

I. Ensure that Company’s Controls group can meet the needs of Company’s customers, to help us sell more controls, equipment, and systems

2. Responsible for the performance and financial success of each controls project

3. Oversee Company’s methods for designing panels and developing and testing PLC code, to ensure continuity from person to person and site to site.

4. Hire, develop, and train controls personnel.

5. Oversee Company’s controls estimates and quotations, encouraging solutions that are technically and/or economically superior, and ensuring timely quote response and accurate pricing.

6. Support Company’s Sales and System Engineering efforts prior to the sale. Provide technical expertise during sales calls when needed

7. Review design criteria, application information, customer needs, and Company’s controls solution concept.

8. Direct, review and coordinate control system designers. drafting personnel, vendor and others to assure proper

concept, engineering principles, application. cost control, testing. and commissioning for all controls projects.

9. Oversee scheduling of work and manage resources to ensure that projects are on time and on budget. J O. Assist in

or perform field start-up and troubleshooting of any systems or equipment issues

11. Review the performance and financial success of completed projects. Look for areas to improve. and implement changes as needed.

12. Consult with, advise or assist Marketing to promote Controls as a vital part of Company’s Systems capabilities

13. Help set and manage the department budget

14. Develop and coordinate new products and product improvements

15. Train customers, reps. and in-house personnel about Company’s products and technology.

16. Stay abreast of and implement the latest equipment, methods, and protocols.

17. Conduct a program of continuing improvement relative to these duties

REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have excellent verbal communication skills in person and by telephone. and the ability to read and write well in English.

* Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy, tact and cooperation necessary to communicate and work with coworkers,

customers, manufacturer's representatives, vendors, callers and visitors.

* Good analytical skills necessary for designing control systems, and to analyze, plan and coordinate work activates, according to priorities, and flexibility to adapt to changes in work load, priorities and schedules.

* Willingness to work overtime and/or put in the necessary time to complete a project within a deadline

* Must have the ability to move around the office and shops. May be required to stand or sit for long periods or be in other positions such as kneeling or leaning over products. May require some physical effort in lifting, moving and holding products or equipment.

* Ability to travel by automobile and airplane for purposes of field survey, presentation of proposals, sales follow up,start-up services, and problem solving services, in the field or in other company buildings.

EQUIPMENT:

* Ability to use a telephone, computer. printer. calculator, fax machine, photocopier and other standard office equipment.

* Experience with related software programs, such as PLC software, operator interface software, word processing and spreadsheets. AutoCAD drafting ability is preferable, but not required.
