The on site Electrical Engineer will be part of engineering group which provides engineering and operational support
for experimental units for the various business units and Chicago area client site . The on site Electrical Engineer will
be responsible for the support and upgrade of the existing electrical systems and for supporting the design,
installation and startup of new systems.
The on site Electrical Engineer is a key for the safe and reliable operation of the electrical systems in Chicago area
facilities. Electrical systems include but not limited to: electrical distribution system, motor control centers, motors, and
VFD drives.
The electrical distribution system in Naperville consists of two incoming 34.5 KV feeders, two 15,000 KVA transformers,
13.8 KV switchgear, seventeen (17) single or double-ended unit substations (480V or 120/208 secondary), 480V Motor
Control Centers (MCC's), 480/277 V power/lighting panels and 208/120 V power/lighting panels, in addition to a cogen
unit and seven (7) 480V emergency generators.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the support and upgrade of the existing electrical systems and for
supporting the design, installation and startup of new systems. He will ensure that designs, installation, startup and
operations of the electrical systems are according to codes, regulations and client’s Naperville Site Technical Practices.
The main task of the Electrical Engineer is to support safe, economic and timely operations and maintenance of all
electrical equipment. This will be achieved through:
Take ownership of Electrical technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the operation
engineers/project managers.
Ensure that all Electrical design changes are reviewed and captured by the Management of Change process
Leverage and collaborate with other disciplines in the execution of the work
As the Electrical Engineer you will also be responsible for the safe & efficient, preparation, planning, co-ordination &
execution of electrical discipline engineering maintenance, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting activities.
Coordinate and support personnel involved in changes / enhancements and fault resolution, ensuring effective
solutions are implemented and tested, and that technical and user documentation is appropriately updated.
Responsible for ensuring that client and site HSE standards are uniformly applied to all activities within your control
Provide engineering support to all business units located at Naperville campus.
