Thompson Consulting Engineers is a 30 person Consulting Engineering firm located in Hampton, Virginia. Our services include Plumbing, Fire Protection, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering design. The firm also provides Construction Administration and HVAC Commissioning services.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design of Electrical Systems for Commercial, Educational and Industrial facilities. EIT and PE registrations are not a requirement but will be looked on favorably.
Requirements: Knowledge of the requirements of the National Electrical Code, the International Energy Conservation Code, the International Building Code and the National Fire Protection Code. The ability to produced marked up drawings for completion by our CAD Technicians. The editing of in-house Master Specifications and creation of Estimates of Probable Construction Cost is also a requirement of this position. A working knowledge of ACAD and Revit is a plus.
Field Investigation Requirements: This position will require the Designer to visit existing facilities on any of our renovation projects and record in-field data as needed to complete the electrical design effort required.
