Our friends in Anchorage are all safe, too. The first I learned of this was from the pics of the liquefaction on Facebook, and I thought that was what the whole city looked like. Glad to know it wasn't that bad! I went through the Northridge quake on an offshore oil platform off of Los Angeles, so I know how scary a real earthquake is. The videos of people riding it out in Anchorage looked similar to that.

Here is the information shared with ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) yesterday morning from the Anchorage Police Department (APD).  It gives a decent outline of the response efforts thus far:

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday was a challenging and emotional day for so many of us. Watching the community come together in response to this emergency event was truly remarkable, and we’re grateful for your continued cooperation during this stressful time. Your safety is our number #1 priority. We’re here for you if you need us. If you have any questions, please call 211.

Below is an update and review as your start your day:

Glad to hear everyone's friends/family are safe.  I was worried about another friend of mine who was a news reported in Alaska, but apparently she moved back to Montana already.

Got home last night and was able to review the damage.

All in all, no significant damage, so we're happy about that. Even if we're sad that we missed the shaking. Cleanup is just beginning.
Glad you made it with minimal damage.  I'm not so sure that I'd want to experience the shaking.  Looked pretty dramatic.
