Civil / Environmental Engineer (Water Resources)
Required Skills & Experience:
Sidney B. Bowne & Son, LLP is seeking a Civil / Environmental Engineer to join our Water Resources Group in our Mineola, NY office.
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required. Preference will be given to those who possess a strong background in water resources engineering.
Requirements include demonstrated ability in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design. Knowledge of structural and geotechnical design concepts, analytical laboratory techniques, and familiarity with codes and regulations related to drinking water and water pollution control are a plus. Computer aided drafting and design utilizing AutoCAD is required. Familiarity with computer applications including GIS, and water and sewer hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
Candidates should be familiar with a broad range of issues related to water and wastewater systems including master planning, treatment, transmission, distribution, storage and collection. Design experience is required.
Qualifications include 5 to 10 years’ experience and PE registration or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
