How many pages was your SER?

Thank you for your response.  I did not realize that Texas recognized the NCEES Record.

How many pages was your SER?

How many pages was your SER?  I know it says a maximum of 12 and there are no minimum requirements, but I am getting some conflicting information on how much detail should be in it.  I have heard of PE's that submitted 1 page and others that submitted 12.

How I Got My Books Into the Exam

As the quantity and weight of reference books kept adding up in the weeks leading to the exam, I started to get a little worried about how I would get all of it into the exam with me.  I also didn't want to waste any time during the test stacking and unstacking books.  My solution was to build a...

    Stuff to bring to test

This is probably overkill, but I took the Civil: Structural and I built a book carrier between study breaks.  Building it was actually a good stress relief.  The picture below is what the rough draft looks like. During the exam, I  laid it down on the ground next to me and had easy access to my...

How would I test bamboo vs. steel reninforcement?

That sounds like a great experiment! I agree with Matt. The first step is to research why reinforcement in concrete is important.

    ABET Accreditation Unlawful/Unjust Cutoff Date

It is just a discussion right?  Correct me if I am wrong, but this is a great place to get gather information and connect with other engineers.  Who or where else is there a place to ask these questions? I agree that going after ABET will cost way more time and money than it is worth, and...

    ABET Accreditation Unlawful/Unjust Cutoff Date

Geo,  Have you contacted ABET to see if they have a statement as to why they do not accredit the degree if the accord does?  I am curious to know if there is something specific that they require that was not specifically offered in 1988 or if there is a process to submit your completed...

    ABET Accreditation Unlawful/Unjust Cutoff Date

Sad but true with a lot of things.

    Greetings

What state do you live in?  Some states allow you to take the PE any time after you pass your FE.  Some states require  4 years of experience before you can take the PE.  I am pretty sure all states require a minimum 4 years of experience under a PE, passing scores on the PE and FE exams and a 4...

Not the only unethical issue he has posted on here.

    ABET Accreditation Unlawful/Unjust Cutoff Date

GeoP,   I can imagine that that has been a frustrating road with a lot of roadblocks in between. I am not sure if you are still looking to reach your goal of becoming a professional engineer here or if you wanting to settle the score with ABET, but the latter seems like a lot of time and effort...

Why does road design have to be the way it is?

Thanks guys. I am glad to hear there is an attempt to plan farther into the future than I originally thought.  Hopefully the process will safely speed up one day.

    structural software

Do any of you find that one design software is better for a certain material?  For example software X is better for wood design and software Y is better for Steel.

    ABET Accreditation Unlawful/Unjust Cutoff Date

GeoP: If you care to share, please tell us more about your situation?  Is this hindering your ability to get a PE license?  What field are you in and how much experience do you have in that field?  I am only trying to understand why ABET accreditation would be such a hindrance for so long? As a...

Why does road design have to be the way it is?

But why not take that into consideration when designing.  If they know the road will not be finished for 10 years, then why not design for the projected capacity of the location in 15 years?

Why does road design have to be the way it is?

I have always been curious why road design does not plan further into the future.  From what I remember from my college transportation design class, when a new design is first started, the design is based off of the projected population and expected volume 10 years into the future.  After the...
