This is spot on. Although my Doubt Phase lasted for a long time. I started thinking "What if I didn't fill in the WR/ENV bubble and they think I'm taking the structural depth?" or "What if I didn't properly fill in the bubbles for each question (even though I checked that during the exam)?"...
Same here. 6 Min Solutions were closer to the real thing but still harder.
If you are getting 80%+ on the NCEES Sample Questions, you should be good to go. Just remember to read each question carefully and understand EXACTLY what they are looking for and the units.
Last October, I took the Lindeburg sample exam and got 40/80. And I passed the real thing. I've also talked with several others who got a similar score on the sample exam and passed. I think you are in good shape. Studying some of the things that you had difficulty with and you will be in...
I suggest only studying topics listed on the NCEES Outline. I don't remember a question that dealt with something not on that outline.
Also, the CERM (and I'd recommend having a CE Dictionary) should be plenty for the AM section...
Don't forget to put a spare set of keys around you neck...in case you lock your keys in your car. And a wire hanger in case you also lock your spare set in there too. And a 6' piece of rope for who knows what. :)
But seriously...I used a suitcase and it worked great.
The best advice I got from this site was to completely understand everything on the NCEES provided outline. Don't just know where to find the formula for calculating the hydraulic grade line...know what hydraulic grade line is and what it means. You could do 20 practice problems on HGLs and...
Agree on the 6 Minute Solutions. I wouldn't bother doing the other depths...just know yours very well. I found the 6 Minute Solution problems were slightly more difficult than the exam, so take that for what its worth.
As for the Unit Conversion book, the front cover of the CERM provided...
This was basically my goal as well. 1-2 hours per night during the week and a few hours on the weekend. I also took several days off here and there...mainly on the weekends. I took a review class that met for 36 hours as well. All in all, I probably put in 150-175 hours total although I...
The following is a list of books I used to study and brought into the exam room to successfully pass the Civil WR/ENV PE on the first attempt.
1. Metcalf & Eddy's Wastewater Engineering: Treatment, Disposal, and Reuse - 3rd Edition. $50
2. Viessman & Hammer's Water Supply and Pollution...
Per one of my coworkers who had the exact same delay, after a year without getting the wall certificate he finally called the Board and they basically told him they forgot about it. After the call, he received the certificate within a few days.
It is currently -16 in Des Moines, IA (even colder in northern Iowa) with a wind chill of -38. The high today here is -5.
It gets cold in Iowa...but not THIS cold. On the news this morning they said this was the coldest day in 10 years in Iowa.
Congrats logo! Next step...the PE!
Congrats iainmn! It feels great doesn't it?!
While the wait was long and frustrating...passing makes it worth everything!
