October 2012 - Post how long it took your state to issue a License No.

Found out I passed 12/14...number issued 12/18. Ohio.

Ok you passed. How much did you spend?

    $1400 (2 timer) $650 - Review matls. (CERM, NCEES, 6 Min Solns., CERM Quick Ref, Rajapakse <-- waste) 2 @ $265 - NCEES test reg. 2 @ $75 - Application fee $40 - Stamp (Priceless) Got some used review courses for free as well. (~):}

    Failed...looking at review courses

Only from a Civil perspective...6 min solutions, NCEES sample exam, along with a well tabbed CERM index were enough. I would also suggest the quick reference guides from PPI for your breadth and depth. Just work the promblems until you know them cold.

    After finding out your results!

It was purchased for me as an early Christmas present. I was in the States on mid-tour leave from Korea, and came back 4 days before results were released. I brought it back in with me and got a little carried away. Yes, yes it was worth it. I felt top shelf at the time, so I reached for the...

    Passed, Pay Raise?

True if you are doing work FOR the gov't, i.e. a contractor providing design and/or construction services for a fed gov't entity. However, I am a federally employed engineer, active duty military...PE won't even appear in my record, unless things change. Also, any work we do has been covered by...

    Passed, Pay Raise?

Work for DoD...no pay raise or promotion; getting a PE was peerly a personal goal. Although, I would feel more confident now going into the private sector.

    Passed, Pay Raise?

I have worked for the fed gov't for 7 years. Got my PE and will see no extra money and no increased chance of promotion. Sovereign Immunity really makes having a PE usless in a classic sense. But I feel like I could go private and compete a little easier. More options and upward potential.

How to Pass the Civil PE Construction

CERM - Tabbed Soils, Passive/Active Earth, and a few other sections. I mostly started in the index and worked from there. Rajapakse...not very helpful (concrete mix design, maybe) NCEES Problems - I made myself memorize where every problem was, in case there were any similar on the actual...

PE Civil (Construction)-- Highest failing score

I failed in Apr 12 and passed Oct. I remember being surprised by the # of AM and PM concept or qualitative questions in Apr. I had luck looking in the back of CERM for a key term within the question, and writing every section number that might apply in the questions booklet. As I starterd to...

Lugging Reference Material to the Test

Backpack, which I carried 2K through Seoul. I had the CERM, Rajapakse x 2, NCEES probs, PPI probs, 6 min solutions, School of PE, Test Masters, and both the CE and Construction PPI quick refs. Builds character, breaks you back.

    Map: October 2012 Exam Results

Might be quicker to take the test in a state that releases early early through NCEES and then apply for comity in the PCS state you want. :15:

    OH Results!

Just checked the OH Board website...I sent in my NCEES pass notification and $50 check last Thursday. I have already been assigned my PE registration number!!! Woot! Way to go OH!!

    TEXAS PE RESULTS - OCT 2012 - PASS/FAIL - CUT OFF SCORE

Seems a little unfair to the test taker in both cases. Why give out a score without giving it any meaning. I mean what does telling you you were in the 83, 75, or 65 percentile mean, if they don't tell you where the line was. theoretically, you could be in the 60% and still pass, depending on...

PE Civil (Construction)-- Highest failing score

I guess the point being made with regard to Construction being a wild card is that there doesn't seem to be a really great set of review manuals. Look at the CERM...I think there are all of 40 pages on Construction, no? The Rajapakse books are a joke. So many errors and miscalculations it's...

PE Civil (Construction)-- Highest failing score

Agree with still_an_intern, however I missed in Apr by one or two ....54/80. I had studied 300+ hours. My problem was I didn't rely on the resources enough for the quantitative questions, and I was somewhat thrown off by the quantity of qualitative questions. Instead of using common sense, I...
