    FE Exam Questions

I don't think there is any "easier" test versus any other. The exam questions are skewed to various disciplines, with the intention that students will self-select based on their desire to pass the test. NCEES posts specs on each test. My recommendation would be to look at these specs and just...

    Illinois EIT Registration Timeline

While it's a great improvement, it's still one month between test completion and receiving the license. If I were NCEES, I'd score the test right there and then. Heck, have a printer for the cursory hardcopy congratulating you. Technically, you could score the test and walk out the door with a...

That was my favorite chapter too! :beerchug:

    PE license in California

Based on my experience as a mechanical engineer, only one of my four references was a PE, but my line of work and experience is where the professional exemption applies.

I passed the Electrical CBT EIT Exam

Has anyone tried the electronic-based practice CBT offered by NCEES?

    MERM binding is already shot...

For thick hardbound books, it's fairly normal to have the center pages detached from the hardcover. Mechanically, this makes sense so the glued portions of the binding aren't strained due to the curvature created from opening the book and having it rest open at 180 degrees.

    MERM Practice Problems

I would organize your problem solving by subject. Once you have mastered a subject through problem solving, then move on to the next.

    April 2014 - PM exam

Just curious, but are test scores and passing cutoffs normalized across all mechanical PE depth modules? Or are passing cuttoffs more granular and grouped per depth module? If it's the former, then there's more tactical merit to finding the "easier" depth module.

    About CERM

I used a 15 year old MERM along with its matching companion problem set and I found it to be fine for both studying and during the test. Only rarely did I find a "gap" when practicing off the NCEES practice test; Google can take care of the rest. The main thing is to use the hell out of the...

    Anyone selling PE electronics books?

Do you mean eBooks for disciplines or PE guidebooks for the Electrical PE exams?

    School of PE or testmasters

To those who attended classes, what would you say the advantage is over a more independent approach such as working through the MERM? Was there a collaborative element with your professors and class mates?

    Hvac exam

There's a collection of youtube videos for the PE organized by subject. Check it out.

    PE and Money

I see both sides. On one hand, choosing a profession based on salary considerations is both practical and to be expected. For instance, the relatively low salaries offered to elementary school teachers is a constraint to attracting top talent. The upper middle class salaries offered by the...

    Used PE Tutorial...

I purchased a version of the MERM that was at least 15 years old in my preparation through Amazon and used it during the test too. It was my primary reference and along with the NCEES practice test. While some gaps were uncovered while using the NCEES test during practice, I used Wikipedia and...
