Board is open to advance + members

6.5 weeks is the minimum time normally to get your results so try not to stress yourself! I could not follow that advice when I was waiting on my results and checked several times daily. Good Luck!!!

    Passed, Pay Raise?

I do not know what you are currently making, but a PE should definately be making more than what an entry level engineer is. I left a job a few years ago that I was working 60 plus hours per week making less than $60K with the promise that once the firm is doing better so will you. After the...

    HVAC exam vs Thermo-fluids exam

I found the T/F to be more straight forward with most of the problems coming out of the MERM which I passed OCT 2012. The HVAC questions could come anywhere out of the MERM and the AHRAE manuals and were more complex questions than necessary for an 8 hour exam with 80 questions ( I took the...

Oct 2012 Thermo & Fluids Exam - How I passed

I used James Kamm Mechanical Morning and Afternoon CD-Romm study material as the foundation for my preparation. Ithink that Kamm gives you 70 to 80 % of what you need for the Afternoon if you study all three sections (the material is so vast that I think this as about as good as anyone can do)...

    Failed EIT Records?

Study hard while is school. Get a review course (I did not have any luck with the college review course). You can find some good deals on the EB yardsale. Put in 300 hours study all topics. I took mine 20 years out of school and it was a huge undertaking. Do it now while it is fresh. You...

    Which PM exam to take

I am not civil, but I would recommend a specialty topic based upon what I have discussed with my Civil PE friends (construction is what they typically suggest). I suggest preparation by using a review course such as James Kamm, School of PE, etc.

I want to take the FE/EIT Exam but I dont know If I am qualified Help!

I am not very familiar with CA Board, but I agree that you should fill out an application and send it in. If your Professor is a PE get him to sign for you. Also, you may want to consider an NCEES record as they work with foreign degrees. If all else fails try another State. I have heard of...

October 2012 - Post how long it took your state to issue a License No.

GA within a day of the NCEES notification.

    Is a current MERM necessary?

I think that you can definately pass with the 11th, but if you are going to take a review course the 12th will be used as the reference manual.

T&F exam, US unit or SI unit?

Mine was 50/50 US and SI. Study both.

Everblue has an online course and sample questions that I thought was fairly straight forward and reasonable at least 18 mos ago.

    Testmasters vs School of PE

I took Dr. James Kamm CD-Romm review course and studied all three afternoon topics and passed. I had to take this due to my work schedule not permitting me to attend all of the classes. As above, I watched course and worked all problems multiple times. I took School of PE for my FE and it was...
