    State Specific exam info

Anchorage, AK- PE exam Quality of Location- The test was administered in a church gym. Was not the poshest digs, but I wasn't expecting it either. Temperature was fine, shared a folding style banquet table with another person. Chairs were comfortable enough. Not too hot not too cold. Materials...

Two Questions From NCEES 2008 Water Resources Afternoon Section

In question 1, it should be 0.5 cfs/in not cf/in, then your units will work out. Q's should always be flows rather than volumes... Good luck with question 2. bta15

for those of you who passed Civil...

What section did you take? I took the transportation depth in Oct. 2009 and found it to not be that difficult. I would recommend 6 minute solutions if you don't already have it. I still have me copy and have no use for it. PM me if ur interested.

    No Studying

I don't think that I am a better engineer than anyone on here or that it wasn't worth my time. I was willing to not really study, fail, and then re-evaluate what I needed to study. I didn't stress, didn't lose sleep over it, went in relaxed and passed. It may have been that my guesses were...

    No Studying

I "studied" for approx 16 hours for the test. I didnt want to study at all but my girlfriend nagged me so I opened my CERM book and put it on the floor while watching football for 2 hours a week for 4 weeks. Then the day before the test I did the Trans 6 minute solutions for 8 hours(basically...

3 months to prepare for the P.E.

You've already started 2.5 months before I started studying and studied 4 more hours than I studied total. In short, you're gonna make it. The way I saw it is my time is work $35/hr. If I studied 200 hours that cost me $7000. If I passed my raise was gonna be roughly $8000 per year. So if I...

    Transportation Textbooks????

Six minute solutions is the nuts. I studied for a total of 16 hours for the Civil PE/ Transportation exam. 8 hours of that was just doing the sample problems in the six minute solution book. The other 8 hours was the NCEES practice exam with the CERM. I passed the first try. If you do the...

    Response From Employer

I passed in October, around the 1st of the year I got a $3.5/hour raise. After bonuses and overtime, it should equate to roughly $10k/year increase in pay. I have also heard the annual raises get bigger after you get your PE, but that might just be BS. I was happy but not ecstatic with it, but...

    # of Hours of study & prep

I studied for approximately 16 hours. 2 hours each weekend for a month prior to the test, then 8 hours the day before the test, no review course. I took the Civil Transportation exam and passed the first try. 6 minute solution FTW.

Post your PE failure diagnostic report!

POed Mommy, I would recommend you buy the 6-minute solutions book for the Transportation section. I realize you arent taking transpo in the afternoon, but I still think it would help you do better in the morning. I studied the CERM for 6 hours and the 6-minute solutions transpo book for 8 hours...
