Has anyone here in the enviro forum ever taken, or considered taking, the Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian exam?
I've been looking into this with a co-worker of mine. The exam overlaps the Enviro PE about 50%, it appears, but with some extra stuff like food safety, swimming pools. institutional health, and epidemiology, which we don't get any of in the PE studying. It's basically everything covered by the Salvato text ("Environmental Engineering"). But the sample exams look simple, and if you're working in an environmental agency, you're doing a lot of this work anyway. The REHS/RS certification would make a pretty good feather in the cap, for folks in this particular line of work.
I am curious if any of you have heard of this, know someone who has taken the exam, or has taken it themselves. I think we are going to go for it, so I will be sure to report back with my experience if I do.
