We currently have several vacancies for Test Engineering Technicians at our site in Rochester.
As a Test Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between the test technician and test engineering disciplines, with the addition of hand skills that can be used across the manufacturing or aftermarket areas of the Rochester facility.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to support a range of products used on commercial and military platforms, including fixed and rotary wing aircraft, human-machine interfaces and power management.
Your main responsibilities as a Test Engineering Technician will involve:
Carrying out test and 2nd tier fault finding, reworking/repairing, modification and associated activities on a variety of new and mature analogue & digital electronic and electro-mechanical products such as pilot displays, flight controls and flight computers
Promoting and facilitating a culture of continuous improvement when supporting other technicians and using feedback mechanisms to help eliminate or reduce future predicted failures
Using root cause analysis and/or statistical process control (SPC) monitoring to help build a statistical and factual case in support of continuous improvement and cost reduction suggestions
Assisting in failure analysis and troubleshooting of complex circuits supporting the development of the test technicians and working with the test engineering team
Completing tasks within the set target times and to the required standard
Your skills and qualifications as a Test Engineering Technician:
Testing/reworking experience of complex electrical products
Fault finding to a pin level
Understanding complex circuit diagrams
Knowledge of continuous improvement procedures would be desirable
Soldering experience to IPC or a similar standard would be desirable
Qualification within Electronics
