Like the title says...interested in hearing opinions about starting an indepdent firm. For context, I have 8 years of experience in my field (Nevada PE, some useless designations, and California PE soon). I am frustrated with my employer's practices and approach. These days, I find myself arguing with my boss on quality of work (or lackthere of). I have been actively interviewing and I have offers but feels like trading one boomer boss for another boomer. Have done some freelance work on the side too but I don't know how to develop a solid business plan that can offset my current salary. Definetely don't want to poach any clients out of respect and ethics.
