My state(Michigan) licensing board mentioned on the website that "Candidates may take any reference material into the test room; however, all material must be bound. Loose papers should be placed in a three-ring binder"

can any of you please elaborate on this? I guees my question is Can I take the text books(not hard bound) but foreign text books with soft cover( in english though)

for sure, I can take EERM material and sample Power questions book from NCEES? I am taking Power Exam. Do I have to write something on EERM only with pen or I can use pencil?

TIA

As long as it is not loose paper, you can bring it in. So a soft cover/paperback is fine. If it is not bound, you can three-hole punch it and put it in a binder to bring in.

The question of pen vs pencil should be asked directly to your board. Some allow it and some don't.

Good luck!

I had 3 binders full of loose leaf notes I took in with me. As well as hard and soft cover texts, and a couple of manuals with those heat and press adhesive bindings.

Basically as long as its contained, you're all set. They just don't want someone making a mess and causing a fuss with 100 loose pages all over the place.

Though you do get 5 bonus points from ELSES for using only materials in 3-ring binders. :p
