Cool photos - my Dad used to have a whole series of picture books on the Civil War, maybe one of those Time-Life series from the 70s. I always thought it was pretty amazing to see photos from so long ago. Hard to believe the U.S. was the scene of such devastation and death.

^^I can't remember how many times I passed that exit coming back from Eglin AFB and thought, "Why would anyone want to see that?"

It is definitely something to see, even just once. You can almost smell the death that occurred there. The on-site musuem is very informative and detailed; a must see for anyone interested in the Civil War.
