I'm a few years out of school and loved working with GIS, AutoCAD, and Matlab. Naturally, I use some programs more than others, and some not at all. What programs are you using in school now, and which have you found most useful? I'm most interested in horizontal infrastructure like roadways and railways, but feel free to add structural advice. How about for making renderings pretty -- do you prefer Photoshop, Illustrator, etc?
To give a little, I recommend getting familiar with Bluebeam if your school or company offers it. Even for reviewing simple PDFs, Bluebeam has become integral to construction and civil design reviews.
