I got my PE recently and was wondering if there is any benefit of taking the ST exam later. Does it add to one's credentials and how? If I take this exam and passed, can I add the SE title to my PE?

Any ideas or advices? Thank you.

Welcome to the boards!

As of right now, it will depends on which state you would like to be licensed in. Many states do not license disiplines in engineering. A few actually license professional structural engineers (SE) seperate from normal PE's.

There is some benifet for taking the Structural I and Structural II exam, but I would think about simply wait and take the new 16 hour Structural exam when it comes out.
