SHE Manager

Reporting directly into the General Manager based at the Irvine site, this SHE Manager role sits as part of the senior management team. As SHE Manager, you will be responsible for managing all Health, Safety & Environmental activitiesto generate and promote a positive attitude to SHE throughout the business whilst maintaining the company's licence to operate.Your key responsibilities as SHE Manager at the Irvine site will be to:
• Ensure that all safety and environmental legislation is adhered to and all
business policies and practices are proactively adopted throughout the business.
• Monitor and review company preventative and protective Health, Safety and
Environmental measures, policies and strategies.
• Work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents,
injuries and environmental incidents.
• Update and maintain COMAH-related documentation and host all relevant HSE,
SEPA and Local Authority audits and inspections.
• Update and maintain the On-Site Emergency Response Plan, structure and
maintain the ERP Team and manage all associated activities.
• Carry out regular inspections and audits to ensure safety and environmental
procedures and policies are being properly implemented.
• Review data from accidents and incidents and proactively recommend actions to the Senior Operating Team.
• Maintain a working knowledge of new, relevant Health, Safety and environmental legislation that affect the aerosol industry in particular or manufacturing companies in general.
• Develop and maintain an excellent formal relationship between Barony and the
HSE, SEPA, BAMA and all other relevant agencies.
• Assist in the development of safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards in particular where new or modified equipment is being installed.(Management of change)
• Manage the identification and safe disposal of hazardous waste.
• Audit and report upon hazards arising from new product, new chemical and new
process introductions.
Who we're looking for
To be successful at interview, your HSE experience will ideally have been gained within the Engineering, Chemicals or Manufacturing sectors. Ideally an Engineering graduate or of graduate calibre, you will preferably have experience of working in a Tier 1 COMAH site. You will have proven knowledge of HSE processes and all associated regulations. You will also have a proven track record of successfully managing internal and external audits. You will also be a confident presenter with the ability tocommunicate internally at all levels across the business whilst also being able to communicate with external bodies such as HSE, SEPA, BAMA, Local Authorities and the Emergency Services. You will be a proven leader who can promote a positive safety culture through skills, knowledge, experience and results and challenge unsafe situations to ensure a best in practice environment.
