I have taken the FE Exam at Michigan on October 2010 and intend to take PE Exam first time at Michigan in April 2011 .I have a foreign Non-ABET Engineering Bachelors Degree (Four Years) which is being currently evaluated by NCEES. After my bachelors I had two years of Engineering Work Experience at Germany and India (August 2003 to August 2005).After two years of my foreign Work Experience i did my Masters in Mechanical Engineering at 'University of Michigan' at Ann Arbor (which has ABET Acredited Bachelors).Since May 2007 I am working in US and will have 4 years of US experience by May 2011. The PE exam will be held in April by which i will have only a few days less than 4 years of US work experience required by Michigan Board.
My Bachelors engineering degree after accreditation will most probably fall short on humanities requirement.As such for Michigan they will consider my Masters as a primary degree and will only count experience after that.
As Michigan requires 4 years of work ex after graduation, has anybody got an exception to this rule,is there any other state where i can get PE Exam pre approval for April 2011.I am aware of State of Ohio for which i meet the PE pre-approval requirements however the Ohio Application Submission Deadline is December 10 which i will definitely not make as FE scores will be out after 6 to 8 weeks of October 29 and then Michigan will take additional 25 days to verify my FE score to Ohio and by that time i will be much beyond 10th December.
Is there any state where the deadline is in January or later and i can get the pre-approval for April PE.I just want to take the April 2011 test,i can wait for formal licensure.
