no score for Illinois. While I guess I wouldn't mind knowing, in the end nobody puts

"Register Profressional Engineer in Illinois, Exam Score 81" on the resume.

Ohio did not...I wish they had because there was a prick at my old office that got his PE a couple years ago and I'd love to know if I scored higher than him so I could rub his face in it. I wonder if he knows they don't give you the score anymore? I could just make something up that's 4 or 5 points higher than whatever he got.

in NC it appears all you get is FAIL......ummm....I mean pass/fail......and an anlysis report with percentage correct......but the breakdown is different with the number of questions per PM subject....so you can't really be totally sure how many....but you can get close......for me...at or slightly above 50 correct....TWICE.... :brick:

Oklahoma is pass/fail. Once again I don't think the powers that be know how much we would like to know. It is just nice to see a number with it, even if it only indicates pass or fail for that particular test.

That is all the bitchin I will do on that subject since I did receive good news.

I could see providing the score for those who don't pass. I'm not sure what it does for you that the diagnostic doesn't do, but whatever.

I don't see where the passers need their score. The purpose of the exam is not to determine who the best engineer is. Only that they meet a certain level of competency.

I couldn't agree more.

I think a score is worthless. The diagnostic is what matters. and the pass/fail setup will be much better in the long run, when most have went thru it that way.

I would love knowing how well I did on the exam since I put so much of my life into that thing. I was pretty confident after the exam and wanted to know if that confidence was warranted. However, I know that in the professional world, it doesn't affect your work. And if I got a really high score, I'd make a poster of the report to hang in the office as well as t-shirts. But not knowing my score makes me feel like I'm not any better than the other PE's. There are people who are really proud that they passed the FE and PE on their first try. Imagine what they'd be like if they got a 95 on the exam.

How good someone is as a PE does not mean what he scored on his test. I really dont think the others in your office would think any less of you if you scored a 71 on both tests. By the way, we had a guy last year tell everybody how "he was sure that he got 90 or up".....this was after he got his results. Trust me, nobody bowed down.
