I got news on the 8th of January 2025 that I had passed the PE Exam - Mechanical - Thermal Fluids and Systems
My whole PE application journey started in January 2024.
Due to work pressures, I was only able to complete my application, with all document reviewed by the Texas board in June 2024.
Due to my years of experience and Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, I was exempted by the Texas Board from taking the FE exams.
I was approved for the PE exam in June 2024

I started searching for the right course and practice to prepare for the exam as I have been out of school for about 15 years.
I glanced through the different courses available: MRM, Dr. Toms, School of PE and Slay the PE.
I decided to settle for Slay the PE.
Although it was slightly more expensive, I was given the option to pay in installments.
I paid for the full course - On-Demand videos, Study Guide book, Practice Exam, CBT Exams: Thermodynamics Review, Fluid Mechanics Review, and Diagnostic Exams A, B, C, and D)

I Started studying in the 2nd week of July 2024.
The schedule demanded 18 weeks, with an exam at the end of every week to test your knowledge
It was tough at the beginning, as my brain was booting and remembering all the stuff studied in school.
But after about 2-3 weeks, I settled in.
In total, with the course and all the practice tests, I solved over 600 problems.

In addition to Slay the PE, I purchased 1 practice exam from Engineering Pro Guides.
EngProGuides has 6 Practice exams as a package with 80 questions each that cut across all the topic listed by NCEES.
I highly recommend this so as to test your knowledge.
Due to time constraint, I was only able to complete on practice exam from EngProGuides.

On Exam day, I was really nervous. I couldnt even sleep well the night before.
I had been studying for 5 and half months, 2 hours on weekdays, 6-8 hours on weekends.
My brain was tired, but I muscled all the energy I could to sleep.
I got to the PearsonVue center at 7:15am. My exam was slated for 8am.
Verification process was straightforward.
Then the exam started.
The Plan:
Go through all questions in Round 1 and solve the low hanging fruits,
Repeat this for four rounds, with increasing difficulty.
I skipped the first 10 questions as they looked strange. (Brain was Booting)
And the 11 question looked doable, and then the 12th, then the 13th.
I had gone through my first round, in 1 hour.
By the 4th hour, in the first sections, I had about 5-6 questions I didnt know how to solve, So I just guessed.
I had a 50 minute break and went back in
Section 2 started well.
Using the same method, I was stuck on the last hour with about 6-7 questions I couldnt solve. So I guessed.
I went back and reviewed my answers on my previous questions to make sure they were correct until the time elapsed.

the Wait:
This is the toughest part of the process.
You go through the phases of second-guessing, sure you failed, sure you passed and then preparing to take the test again.
But alas, on Wednesday, the 8th of January, I received the NCEES mail.
I mistyped my NCEES password twice as my hands were shaking.
And I saw the GREEN Passed.
Ooooooo that Feeling!!

Now as I type this, my brain is still itching to solve some Thermo and Psychrometric problems and those were my favourites.

In Conclusion
All things are possible to them who believe!
If you are preparing for the exams, keep at it.
If you were not successful at first, dont lose hope and have another go at it!
Trust in God and He will surely help you.
Good Luck

PS: Forgive me if there were any typos.
