I am trying to find any construction testing firms in/around the Oxford/Henderson area that I can get to take some asphalt core samples. I have to come up there and sample the asphalt pavement at the Oxford-Henderson Airport.

Does anyone have any suggestions???? I am trying to get this done relatively quickly.

Do you need them to test or just to core the samples? Any concrete contractor is likely to have a core drill. You just need to specify the diametr and depth.

You might try to contact someone at the airport who might know a local if you have that option.

I was really looking for a construction testing firm to hire; figured this time of year most contractors are busy trying to finish up their workload before the paving season ends (if their is one in NC)

Why not rent a core drill and get them yourself. It's pretty easy.

other suggestions. Call the Asphalt Institute or contact AASHTO for a lab recommendation. Sorry I don't know any down in the NC area.

Our firm has worked with S&ME and ECS to do our asphalt core samples. Both are good companies to work with and I think both have offices located all around the Carolinas so travel shouldn't be an issue.

Ended up going with TerraTech, out of Raleigh. Very satisfied on the job they did.
