You definitely need a copy of the NEC. I recommend the NEC Handbook because the extra material can be helpful.

The NCEES guidelines say the test could cover the NESC, but I've never heard mention of an NESC problem actually showing up on the electrical test, or in study materials. I took a copy of the NESC just in case, and the civil engineer seated next to me was surprised I had it.
